Greenland Expedition – Testing Shackleton’s Equipment
The Turner Twins attempted to trek across the polar ice cap of Greenland – guided by record breaking explorer George Bullard.
To highlight the struggles and triumphs of the famous explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, they started on the west coast near Kangerlussuaq using replica kit from Shackleton’s 1914-17 expedition. The route would take them 555km across the ice cap to the east via the abandoned DYE II radar station. Unfortunately, Hugo sustained a knee injury resulting a helicopter evacuation after two weeks.
